12/10/17: I Am Kicking My Own Ass

I’m going to call my doctor or PA tomorrow morning with this concern, but I am so anxious about it that I have to get it out here while I wait.

I’m 5 days P.O. from reattachment of all three hamstring tendons. I’m in a hip brace that limits my hip actions, but leaves the knee free.

Two days ago I was laying on my side, wrestling to get my sock off. The grabber slipped and sent my heel painfully snapping up towards my bum. Hurt like crazy. The next day I did the same motion twice, involuntarily, when I jerked awake after dozing off. Apparently I’m prone to an involuntary butt-kicking reflex. As if I’m not hard enough on myself.

Before this happened my leg was a little swollen and hurting, and now it’s really swollen and painful, but I have no idea if it’s connected to the knee flexion or not. I don’t know how much swelling and pain is to be expected at this point.

So this was three instances of active knee flexion that hurt a lot, and now I’m scared I’ve messed up the repair. My knee is free to move in this brace, but at this point it’s only supposed to be passive movement.

Does anyone know how violent an action it would take to destroy my new anchoring? Am I being unrealistically anxious? I was on here several days ago assuring another Hamster that it’s sturdy hardware that can survive a small stumble up the stairs, but… here I am. So now I’m going to go somewhere and breathe. Thanks for listening.
