My goal in the #denofpositivity has never been to *stay* positive, or to *not* have uncomfortable feelings; I learn again & again that light & sight are on the other side of the feels. The real goal here is to *remember* positivity; to remind myself that positivity is a powerful reward of mindfulness & self-exploration. The more I do that deep, hard work in the mirror, the more positivity I feel.

1/13/19: How Hard Did Aging Hit You?

“HOW HARD DID AGING HIT YOU” CHALLENGE: October 2008 & November 2018. See…? No wrinkles.
P.S… Besides kicking off my own leg last fall, aging is pretty awesome. Love becoming a wise old owl.

“Sometimes the world seems against you The journey may leave a scar But scars can heal and reveal just Where you are The people you love will change you The things you have learned will guide you And nothing on earth can silence The quiet voice still inside you...”
-Opetaia Tavita Foa I / Mark Mancina / Lin Manuel Miranda, from “I Am Moana” (Song of the Ancestors)

Sing directly into the mirror. Then make this week so great it makes last week jealous.

1/1/19: Only You
“No one is going to love you
exactly like you imagine.
No one is ever going to read
your mind and take every star
from the sky at the perfect
time and hand it to you.
No one is going to show up
at your door on a horse,
with a shoe you lost.
Do you understand?
That's why you have to love
yourself enough, so that
any other love just adds
more candles to the cake
you've already iced.”

Okay, one good public whine: Gaaaaahhhh……….
‘Course, it’s not as bad as that time I tore all three hamstrings off the bone…
12/27/18: Setting Intentions

Another wish for my fellow Hamsters as we close out the year.
As we set intentions to move forward into 2019, may we do it with a sense of acceptance, allowance, & compassion for ourselves – and continue on the healthy & mindful path. May we accept *all* our experiences as benefitting us, even when they’re hard, even when they’re uncomfortable, even when we don’t like it… and choose to find happiness with whatever we’re experiencing – good, bad, & ugly. Easier said than done, I know. Someone point me to this post when I’m back in the pit of despair about some ache or pain. Happy New Year!
