1/11/18: Power of Habits

I’m thinking about the power of habits tonight. Many of us in our first months PO are feeling the weight of the mindfulness required to move safely with our new attachments. It’s why attending PT appointments and practicing the exercises at home is so important: repetition cements the balanced & safe movement in our muscle memory. For me, the focus & effort are exhausting, and I imagine that those of you already back to work find it doubly so. I’m hoping the magic of habit building works for me and all of us. Hamsters who celebrate their Hammiversaries here always give me hope. And now…I’m gonna go do some quad sets.

1/6/18: Slip-On Shoe Recommendation

Can anyone recommend a slip-on sneaker or boot they’ve been wearing? Also need to be able to put orthotics into them. I tried putting elastic laces into my regular running shoes, but the tongue gets pushed up into the shoe when I put my foot in and I can’t bend over to fish it out. Anyone wearing a lace-less sneaker or boot that they love?

1/3/18: Drink Your Water – Hacks

For many of us it’s cold & dry outside the house, and hot & dry inside. With the dry skin that’s fallen off my legs, I could build another me. Now that using the bathroom is a more routine affair at 4 weeks PO, I’m going to work towards better hydration this week. Here are some tips I give my clients for filling the well. Cheers!
